Berlin-Adlershof, the citiy for science, technology and media is characterized by a lifely mixture of University, extra-university research institutes and innovativ technology oriented enterprises. The immediate neighbourhood between basic research, applied research and product development fertilizes productive co-operations.

Under the Title „Light - Materials - Models“ the two days of the centennial symposium with more than 300 participants took place in the Erwin Schoedinger Center in Adlershof. It presented achievements from the interdisciplinary scientific work in of the institutions in Adlershof and documented the contribution which Adlershof can make to the challenges of the nations future.

In the late afternoon of the first day of the symposium a honourary colloquium took place on the occasion of the retirement of Prof. Dr. Ingolf V.
